This is my final entry for my Critical insight Blog. In this last entry I will discuss a few of the emerging issues in society as studied in sociology and a few of the major global social concerns as discussed in my chosen critical insight blog chapters. It is a difficult task to try to tackle such a topic as "emerging social issues" in a two-paragraph essay. My social issues like any others are not completely independent and free of all other factors. With any social problems the best we can do while analyzing them is to make note not of causation but correlations we see and simply apply broad general social theories to what we see. As I said no social issue is completely independent and free of all other factors, therefore they are all really emerging factors. One could write an entire book attempting to analyze the intricacies of how these topics are related.
That's not to say that all social issues are extremely intertwined. Some are Definitely more related than others. I randomly chose three topics that may or may not be much less related than others because I chose these topics not because they were related but because they interested me. The degree to which they are related, I will briefly explore now. Two of my topics are very obviously related most and these are Alcohol/Drugs and Family Issues. Some family issues may drive some people to drugs and alcohol but more often than that drugs and alcohol affect family issues. It does this by ruining marriages, contributing to divorce, teenage pregnancies, and of course abuse. Its harder to relate drugs and alcohol to racism, however as I have argued earlier in discussions every social problem begins as a family issue. Everything can be related to how people were raised or things that happened early in life or in the family. These are just a few ways in which my topics are emerging issues in society as studied in sociology.

Race, Ethnicity, and Immigration
This chapter explores the topic of race and ethnic relations in the US and around the world. The author goes into racial and ethnic diversity and inequality in the US. They discuss many problems that racial minorities will face. They talk about immigration and some of the consequences and issues that come with it. And the chapter also goes into forms of racism that exist.
This is an article about one form of racism discussed in the chapter. The author talks about the growth of skinhead gangs and their violence.
